LingoLevel ("we", "our", "us") is an AI-powered language assessment platform accessible at lingolevel.ai. We help learners discover their CEFR proficiency level across a wide range of languages.

2. Information We Collect

  • Account data — name and email address when you register or sign in with Google.
  • Assessment data — the language you test, your answers, estimated proficiency level, and final CEFR result.
  • Guest data — if you take a test without an account, you may optionally provide a name to personalise your shareable result card.
  • Usage data — browser type, pages visited, and general interaction patterns collected automatically via server logs.

3. How We Use Your Information

  • To deliver, personalise, and improve the assessment experience.
  • To generate your shareable result card and short link.
  • To maintain your assessment history if you have an account.
  • To diagnose technical issues and improve platform reliability.

We do not sell your personal data to third parties.

4. Third-Party Services

  • OpenAI — your answers are sent to OpenAI's API to generate and evaluate questions. OpenAI's privacy policy applies to that processing.
  • Google OAuth — if you choose "Sign in with Google", Google authenticates you under their own privacy policy. We only receive your name and email.
  • DigitalOcean — our infrastructure provider hosts your data in the EU (Frankfurt region).

5. Cookies

We use session cookies to keep you logged in and database-backed sessions to maintain your assessment state. See our Cookie Policy for details.

6. Data Retention

Assessment results are stored indefinitely so you and others can access your shareable result link. You may request deletion of your account and associated data at any time by contacting us.
